Acknowledgment

We acknowledge the Yidinji, Yirrganydji, Gimuy-Waluburra Yidinji and Djabugay peoples as the Traditional Owners of the land and waterways that make up the so-called greater Cairns area in Australia, where Hoopsie Dizzy is based. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. We extend that respect to all First Nations people globally. We honour the Indigenous origins of many forms and techniques in hooping and the flow arts. We respect that Indigenous dance and storytelling practices, including Native American Hoop Dance, are sacred ongoing traditions that can only be practiced in their Native cultural context.
